Windy Brow is deliberately the anti-amusement-park farm, and they'll tell you so themselves: no bounce houses, no cow trains, no pumpkin cannons, just orchards, fresh air, and some of the best food coming off any farm in the county. The bakery program is the real draw, with artisan sourdough baked from regional organic flour, weekend pies, apple cider donuts with a genuine claim to best-around status, and small-batch ice cream in hyper-seasonal flavors that change weekly (the inventive ones like Taylor Ham & French Toast built its reputation). The newer wood-fired pizza nights, most Fridays and Sundays through mid-October, have become a legitimate local event with counter service under the pergola. Pick-your-own apples run September into October with no admission or parking fees, just the bag; recent seasons have been weather-shortened, so check ahead before planning a PYO trip specifically. Dogs are welcome outside, the farm is closed Tuesdays, and the orchard has been in the ground since 1920, with many original trees still bearing.
