The Story Behind Twin Soles Brewing
Twin Soles Brewing was founded by Aaron and Ashley Taube, a husband and wife team who each brought years of professional craft brewing experience to the project. Ashley is a New Jersey native who got her start in the industry at 21 and has worked in craft beer ever since. Aaron came from Buffalo and moved east to build his brewing career, and somewhere along the way their paths crossed in exactly the way you’d hope.
The name Twin Soles comes from Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist,” a book Ashley gave to Aaron, and the passage about twin souls traveling different roads before meeting and changing each other’s lives forever.
Their logo, two footprints side by side but pointed in opposite directions, says the rest. Together they opened The Trailhead, their taproom on CR 565, and brought something genuinely special to northwestern New Jersey.
What to Drink at Twin Soles Brewing
The beer at Twin Soles Brewing earns every bit of the buzz. The Backbreaker Hazy IPA is a standout, pouring with heavy citrus and tropical fruit character and a dank finish that hits just right.
The Forest Has Eyes porter is the kind of dark beer that converts skeptics, smooth and chocolatey with a malt backbone that lingers without being heavy.
The rotating tap list stretches across styles, from the easy-drinking Rock Scramble Pale Ale to the SOBO Peach Lemonade Sour, which riffs on Appalachian Trail culture and tastes like summer. Every beer has a story, and every story connects back to nature, adventure, and the kind of life Aaron and Ashley built together here in Sussex County.
