MySussex.com is hand-curated by a lifelong Sussex County resident who genuinely loves what this county has to offer. It highlights businesses, places, and attractions that are already excellent and have earned strong reputations of their own. It is not a comprehensive, yellow-pages-style directory. Google and Yelp already do that.
What Makes the Cut
Think of this as a personal guide to the spots I feel truly make the cut. A few things I look for:
- Established and consistent: not brand new and unproven, though a strong opening can count
- Locally rooted: owned or run by people invested in Sussex County
- A real reputation: the kind of place people already recommend to each other
- Something that fits the county’s character: worth the drive, worth the visit, worth knowing about
